A WOKINGHAM pre-school has been shut today due to a fire.
As a result of the blaze, parents attending the neighbouring primary school need to use a different entrance.
Ashridge Nursery in the Norreys estate was hit by the fire on Thursday, September 12. It is not yet known what caused it.
The pre-school also admits it doesn’t yet know when it can reopen.
A statement on Facebook said: “We are sorry to announce that we will be unable to open the nursery tomorrow (Friday 13th September).
“There has been a fire at the nursery this evening, and so we are unable to use the building for the immediate future. Please be assured we will be working hard to organise an alternative ASAP.
“We will be in touch again once we know more about the damage to the building and our options.
“Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.”
As a result of the fire, the entrance to Keephatch School via Budges Road was closed. Parents of the children at the school will need to use the main gate or the Hughes Road entrance.
