A WOKINGHAM retirement living development is holding a coffee morning to raise money for Macmillon Cancer Support.
Residents of Oakingham Place on Reading Road will welcome friends, family and locals for refreshments and cakes, with funds going to the charity.
John Michael Tabakian, divisional sales director at McCarthy Stone, said: “We are delighted to be inviting locals to Oakingham Place to help raise money for a very worthwhile cause.
“It’s not only a fantastic opportunity to help promote the brilliant work that Macmillan do, but to also bring the community together and show people what life at a McCarthy Stone development is like.”
The first Macmillan Coffee Morning was held in 1990 to bring people together while raising money for a good cause.
Now one of the world’s biggest fundraising events, it has helped to raise millions for people living with cancer.
Last year more than £13 million was raised through coffee mornings across the country.
Guests will gather this week in the residents’ communal lounge for a brew and a slice of cake, to enjoy the company of friends, family, and the McCarthy Stone team.
The event takes place at Oakingham Place, on Friday, September 27, from 11am until 1pm.
