SUNNY Saturdays are back, thanks to Wokingham Town Council.
Plans are being made for performers to entertain July shoppers and visitors to Wokingham.
The free music events will give people a chance to meet with friends while listening to performers and enjoying lunch or a drink from one of the town’s bars and cafés.
An official from the Town Council said: “Playing at our first Sunny Saturday this year is the Blue Sky Big Band.
“They are phenomenal, performing a mix of rock and roll, swing and jazz.
“We’ve engaged them before, and we know they’re great.
“People should recognise many of their songs.
“We’re suggesting that folk swing by and pull up a chair to enjoy the music.”
With a number of cafés, bars and eating establishments in the town centre, refreshments can be conveniently purchased while listening.
“People can either settle on the courtyard’s outdoor seating or bring their own chairs with them,” said the official.
“A gazebo will be raised each weekend, so performances should go ahead, come rain or shine.”
Sunny Saturday events will take place on July 1, 8 and 15.
They run from 11am to 1pm, in Wokingham’s Peach Place.
Blue Sky Big Band will play on July 1.
Subsequent performances are not yet finalised.
