PEOPLE wanting to enjoy a night at the theatre can do so in the autumn with the added benefit of knowing that their ticket money will also benefit a Wokingham arts charity.
At Wokingham Theatre on the first Wednesday of its new season audience members in September will not only be able to enjoy a performance of psychological thriller Dead Guilty, but will also be supporting a charity committed to promoting the arts locally.
“It’s a double deal for a single price,” said Paddy Haycocks from Arts4Wokingham, a charity working towards the siting of its first public art installation, The Arc, at Wokingham’s Carnival Hub.
“People can watch the show in the knowledge that, at no extra cost to them, they will be making a valuable contribution to Arts4Wokingham and its mission to engage with arts projects right across the borough.”
Dead Guilty is an intriguing thriller that will keep audiences guessing to the end.
Written by British screenwriter and playwright Richard Harris, it concerns attractive young graphic artist, Julia.
When her colleague suffers a fatal heart attack at the wheel, as a passenger in the car, Julia is badly injured in the ensuing crash.
Housebound and depressed, she finds it increasingly difficult to be certain of what is real and what isn’t, and is troubled when things begin inexplicably to disappear.
In this tense psychological study of guilt and obsession, secrets and revelations will emerge to change lives forever.
“You won’t want to miss it,” said Paddy.

“Arts4Wokingham is indebted to Wokingham Theatre for this generous and most unselfish opportunity to help us raise funds for the charity. “They have gifted us the entire auditorium of 161 seats in the first Wednesday of the play’s run, with every penny of ticket purchases going directly to Arts4Wokingham.
“This magnanimous gesture will allow A4W to further its core aim of championing and promoting more public art.
“We are also delighted that Clifton Ingram Solicitors are sponsoring the event.
“Do bring friends, colleagues and family for a night that is guaranteed to make an impact.”
Dead Guilty will run from Thursday, September 4 until Saturday, September 13, with the exception of Sunday.
The charity fundraiser evening hosted, by Arts4Wokingham, will take place at Wokingham Theatre, Cantley Park, on Wednesday, September 3.
Curtain rises at 7.45pm, with the bar open for drinks from 7pm.
Tickets for the charity night cost £19.40 and are available from Arts4Wokingham.
