A COFFEE shop that welcomes dogs is to open its doors in Wokingham town centre this Thursday.
The new branch of Coffee#1 launches in Peach Place, the firm announced on Twitter.
The store means that just one store in Peach Place square remains to be opened, and the coffee shop joins Sit & Sip, Blue Orchid Bakery, Ellie Wan handbags, the Leafy Elephant and Eden Lounge beauty salon.
Coffee#1 already has a branch in Woodley and the firm prides itself on its inclusiveness.
Selected stores have dog-friendly areas and offers water bowls.
It also says that people like sharing pictures of their pooches enjoying a puppyccino.
Its website says: “At Coffee#1 we strive to be as inclusive as possible to all who wish to enjoy our fantastic products. After much deliberation and discussion with local food safety bodies, we have taken the decision to welcome well-behaved dogs into specially designated areas of each of our stores, excepting those in city centres.”
The company also says: “Hard wooden benches aren’t for us. We think coffee should be enjoyed in comfort, which is why you’ll find loads of soft furnishings and signature Chesterfields in all our shops.”
