THE first meeting of 2024 will be held next week for a group aimed at those aged 50 or over in Woodley.
The session will see Joy Pibworth make a return visit to Coronation Hall to unpack the history of the Woodley Airfield development, specifically looking at the stories behind the names of the roads.
The event takes place on Tuesday, January 9, from 2pm to 4pm.
The WISE Over 50s Forum will then return on Tuesday, February 13, for a talk by Sam Milligan from the youth work charity Just Around the Corner (JAC).
He will be giving the buzz on beekeeping, with his talk including an empty beehive.
It is hoped the charity will bring some honey and eggs to buy.
At both meetings, a raffle will be held with tickets costing 50p each or £2 for five.
