Work in Woosehill to replace water pipes with more efficient technology has finished two weeks ahead of schedule say South East Water.
The company said that they have laid more than 1km of new pipe work in the parish, at a cost of £300,000.
It replaces what it says was an “an old and unreliable water main” that was prone to leaking.
Jeremy Dufour, Project Manager at South East Water, said: “We’re delighted this important project finished two weeks ahead of schedule and we hope residents enjoy the benefit of the new pipe for years to come.”
The water company laid new water pipe in Woosehill Spine Road, Dorset Way and Heron Road.
Work began last summer and was due to be finished by mid-February.
Mr Dufour added: “Now our contractor has completed final work to the road surface all temporary traffic lights have been removed from the area.”
The scheme formed part of South East Water’s pledge to pump £424 million into its water network between 2015 and 2020.
