Hey hey, we’re The Veras, and we’ve got Something To Say. Yes, a 21st century band who love the sounds of the sixities have modernised the music and we’ve got the track to prove it.

The Veras head up this weekend’s hit parade, and we think you’ll love them, and the other nine tracks on our playlist

Simply head to https://bit.ly/rawsoundstoday and enjoy the music.

There is also a Facebook page and group chat that bands and music fans can tap into. You can search for RaW Sounds Today and it will come up.

The Veras – Something to Say

It’s that band who bring the pysch pop sounds of the 60s right up to date and they’ve certainly done that again with this new single.

It’s an excellent version of the song originally released by The Action and, as well as wonderful vocal harmonies, it also has a bit of a Small Faces feel with the keyboard sound.

No surprise I suppose as members of the band also play in the Small Fakers.

Both The Veras and Small Fakers will be at London’s legendary 100 Club on Friday, October 27 – https://theveras.co.uk/

Trampolene – Thinking Again

On Saturday, November 4, there is an event worth checking out at Reading’s Face Bar.

Its 19 Something Festival in aid of Age UK Reading and it features a number of great bands including a few we’ve featured such as Gemma Rogers, The Mezz, Jopy and Hoopy Frood.

Here’s one of the others. It’s Trampolene from Wales and they are creating quite a buzz with the release of their latest album, Rules of Love & War, which features this single – https://www.trampolene.co.uk/

Eddie & The Hot Rods – Guardians of the Legacy

When their original vocalist, the brilliant Barrie Masters, passed away in 2019, it looked like that might be the end for Eddie and The Hot Rods. However, wanting to keep the music alive, the rest of the band decided to carry on and they have certainly done that.

As well as performing those classic songs that we all love they released a brand new album earlier this year and it certainly doesn’t disappoint.

This is the title track from the album and you can see them guard that legacy at a Club Velocity Reading Face Bar show on November 11 – https://www.eddieandthehotrods.com/

Beans on Toast – AI

This singer-songwriter has played in the local area a few times for Club Velocity and pulls a bigger crowd each time. He’s coming back to the Reading Face Bar on March 5, as part of an extensive tour for his forthcoming album The Toothpaste and the Tube which is out on December 1 – https://beansontoastmusic.com/

Tom Webber – Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime

A wonderful cover of the famous hit by The Korgis, from Tom’s new The RAK Tracks EP – https://www.tomwebbermusic.com/

Barbara – Pretty Straight Guy

If you are going to Reading Hexagon this Saturday, October 28 to see Haircut 100, make sure you get there in time to see the support band. They are Barbara, a band from Brighton who produce fun melodic pop – https://linktr.ee/barbaratheband

Kyros – Esoterica

This band have many links to the local area, including being on our White Star Records label, and this is their new single – https://www.kyrosmusic.com/

Danny Lampo – Number One

This song features on the Reading musician’s African Queen EP that was released earlier this year – https://www.dannylampo.com/

Rocket Kings – Paving the Way

This is the title track from the band’s new album. See them at The Castle Tap in Reading on December 9 – https://www.facebook.com/rocketkings/

Trim – Restart

This is a great song from the album, Resolve by this band created by local songwriter, Chris Trim – https://www.trimmusic.co.uk/
