Clive Jones, MP for Wokingham, showed his support for men walking and talking, which provides space for men to talk freely and support for mental health.
The group, established in 2021, hosts walks around the country in an effort to fight back against the stigma of men speaking openly about their mental health.
By hosting walks in some of Wokingham’s most beautiful areas, the Wokingham MP has said the group is making great strides towards a healthier culture for men.
The free-to-book walks begin at 6:30pm on Mondays in Cantley Park, and provide a safe space to meet like-minded residents and offer non-judgemental support.
Following the walk, Jones said: “For generations, men have been taught that being open about mental health was a sign of weakness.
“As a result, many men have lived their lives without support or an open ear to talk to without judgment.
“Groups like this are essential in fighting back against this harmful message spread to many men, and I thoroughly enjoyed sharing an open conversation with everyone in the group.
“I’d encourage anyone across the area to take part. There’s no fee, no need to book, and no judgment – simply turn up at Cantley and join the fantastic group of gentlemen I had the pleasure of meeting.”
