‘The club is broken under Dai Yongge, it’s a mess’: MP comments on Reading FC protest

BRACKNELL MP James Sunderland has called for fans to do whatever they can to ‘wrestle control’ from Reading owner Dai Yongge.

After the fans took to the pitch in their thousands to get the game against Port Vale abandoned, Sunderland highlighted the troubles at the club.

Speaking to Tim Dellor on BBC Berkshire Radio, he said: “The club is not going to thrive under Dai Yongge. It’s broken under Dai Yongge.

“For six, seven years under his wing the club has deteriorated, it’s gone down the leagues.

“Look at the mess now, we’re selling players, Tom and Nelson, and the list goes on.

“My view is that now we need to do whatever it takes to wrestle control of the club from Dai Yongge and to make sure Dai Yongge doesn’t run any other club in British football ever.”
