A man has been given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) and was sentenced for multiple thefts from shops.
James Hazard, aged 41, of Merryhill Road, Bracknell, was given a three-year CBO, and sentenced to 24 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for two years.
A rehabilitation order was also put in place. He was sentenced on Wednesday (28/2) at Slough Magistrates’ Court.
Hazard pleaded guilty to 19 counts of theft and one count of common assault.
The incidents happened between December 4, 2023 and January 31, 2024, where Hazard stole various items from shops across Berkshire.
The CBO prevents Hazard from:

Entering any petrol station or associated shop in Berkshire (wherein fuel must be paid for) except for the sole purpose of dispensing and paying for fuel.

Entering any Marks and Spencer store in Berkshire

Entering any Co-op store in Berkshire

Remain in any shop or commercial premises, if staff ask him to leave.
Investigating officer PC Rianne Ayres, of the problem solving team based at Bracknell police station, said: “James Hazard’s prolific offending has caused a detrimental impact on local businesses, and this CBO gives police an additional power of arrest for any breach, and reflects the local police’s positive action to tackle shoplifters.”
