TWO borough music groups will combine their talents in a concert to raise funds for Just Around the Corner (JAC) and Berkshire Music Trust.
Sing Healthy Wokingham Choir and Berkshire Youth String Ensemble will join forces to perform a concert of music inspired by the texts of Shakespeare.
Their programme will include: Vaughan Williams’ In Windsor Forest, a cantata of five movements, using music from his opera Sir John in Love; and Louise Drewett’s Shakespeare Songs, arranged by the composer for this concert.
The concert will raise money for borough charities JAC and Berkshire Music Trust.
JAC is a Christian charity providing equine asisted learning and development programmes for children with challenges such as ADHD, anger, poor self-esteem, trauma and depression.
Berkshire Music Trust has been providing musical opportunities in Berkshire for more than 40 years, educating, inspiring and encouraging children, young people and adults to start musical journeys, achieve their potential, and love music.
Shakespeare Songs – a celebration of the Bard’s words in song will take place at Wokingham Baptist Church, on Saturday, April 27.
Doors open at 7.30pm, and tickets cost £14, or £10 for under 16s.
