Our core value at Connection Chiropractic is CONNECTION. Brene Brown defines connection as ‘the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard and valued; when they can give and receive without judgement; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.’ That is what we hope to achieve at our clinic.
We (Dean and Giselle) met studying chiropractic at DUT in Durban, South Africa. Once we both graduated, we sold everything, packed our bags with all our possessions (literally 2 each) and moved over to the UK and started working as associates at a well-known chiropractic company in Berkshire. Growing our family to four, moving to Twyford and falling in love with Wokingham area, we decided to open our own practice here. When we found the old Mayther’s was up for rent, we knew we had found our dream space! We have a passion for serving their community and connecting with those around us.
Dr Dean is the primary chiropractor at Connection Chiropractic and has spent the last 8 years in Marlow successfully building one of the largest patient bases in the UK. He sees everyone from working class heroes, pregnant mums and babies, families and high-profile celebrities and sportspeople. Dean has attended a wide range of chiropractic courses, and this combined with over 10 years’ experience allows him to adapt his approach to suit every individual need. Dean is extremely passionate about connection in all aspects of life. Whether this be through chiropractic – connecting your mind and body to allow healing, connecting you to yourself, your family and community and helping you achieve your optimal health and wellness. He is a South African, water loving, nature spending husband and father. When not in the office, Dean is an unskilled but enthusiastic surfer, jogger and has started a new love affair with Brazilian Jiu Jiutsu.
So what is chiropractic?
Chiropractic was founded in 1895 on the idea that a properly functioning spine and nervous system is vital for human health.
A lot of people have the misconception that chiropractors ‘crack your bones back into place’. Here at Connection Chiropractic we explain that your chiropractic care is much more than that. Your brain and body are connected by your nervous system, and your spine protects that nervous system. Making sure you have a healthy spine through a range of chiropractic techniques, allows for your nervous system to work properly, which not only helps your symptoms, but also supports your body’s natural ability to heal.
