Reading is known for producing great rock bands and this was shown recently when I saw a post on the Nene Valley Rock Festival facebook page saying how there were so many bands from Reading playing there that someone should organise a bus for fans from the area!! Well we can’t do that but we can include the three bands that they highlighted in their post as new additions this week!

Neil Sadler – No Love Left, No More – Many from the local area will know Neil from his days running his own No Machine Studios in Wokingham. I’ve always loved his guitar playing so it was great to hear that, having played in many bands over the years, Neil was going to release his first solo album! It’s out now and it’s great! Entitled ‘Past To Present’ it features new songs and reworked songs. The title is very apt because it has the feel of classic blues but also feels totally current with strong production (recorded in Neil’s new Devon studio) and of course there is that beautiful guitar sound throughout. Neil has had a tough time over the last few years with his health so it’s great to hear him sounding so fresh and exciting on this album. He’s playing shows around the country including Nene Valley Rock Festival on 8th Sept and hopefully we’ll get to see him for a show back in our area soon – https://www.neil-sadler.com/

The Room – Run – Its live faves, The Room, who will be travelling to Nene Valley Rock Festival on the Saturday, 7th Sept. The band who released their critically acclaimed, ‘Caught By The Machine’ album on our White Star Records label perform their original classic rock material with incredible energy and passion. If you can’t get to Nene Valley though, don’t worry, the band will be at Wokingham Festival in August – https://theroom.band/

Predatür – Time To Go – Here’s some old school rock from Reading based, Predatür. They will also be at Nene Valley Rock Festival on Sunday 8th Sept. This song is just a perfect classic boogie from their 2007 album, ‘In Your Garden’, and the band will also be playing a show at Reading Face Bar on October 26th with another Reading rock band, Dead Can Wait, who feature The Room’s Andy Rowe and Chris York in their line up! Everyone’s connected to everyone in the local rock world! That should be quite a night – https://www.predatur.com/

The March Violets – Hammer The Last Nail – This band, formed in Leeds in the early 80’s as part of the post punk scene, make a welcome return to Reading Face Bar on 24th July in support of their new album, ‘Crocodile Promises’ – https://linktr.ee/marchvioletsband

Cast – Faraway – With many hits in the 90’s and a new album called, ‘Love Is The Call’ out this great band headline Fi-Fest in Fifield this Saturday,13th – http://www.castband.co.uk/

Grace Pounds – Bloodstream – If you are at Readipop this weekend check Grace out. She is also at Wokingham Festival in August – https://www.facebook.com/GracePoundsMusic

Echobelly – Scream – It’s one of the best bands that came out of the 90’s and they will be closing Readipop this Sunday 14th July so don’t miss that – https://www.echobelly.com/
