An opening ceremony was held for Swallows Meadow recently, following improvements made by Earley Environmental Group (EEG) and the University of Reading.
The land, which is owned by the university, lies to the north of Lower Earley Way and has entrances on its east side at Meldreth Way and on its north side off Chatteris Way.
EEG has helped the university with improving the accessibility to make it a pleasant space for all to enjoy.
Other improvements have included a regular mowing regime, new kissing gates and proper signage.
In the long-term, the university aims to improve the biodiversity of the meadow as a natural green space for wildlife.
The opening ceremony was held earlier this month, and there was a short walk around the meadow, family activities and illustrative plans for the future.
