After 20 years of service to Crowthorne Day Centre, Bernie Dunstone has retired.
More than 60 members of staff, volunteers and trustees past and present along with friends and family, gathered to celebrate the retirement of the COATS Day Centre manager.
Bernie was recruited by the charity in 2003 to relaunch the COATS centre after it had fallen into decline.
In the two decades that followed she has built the facility up to become the important community asset it now is.
The retirement celebration was a chance for the many people who have been involved with COATS over the last 20 years to catch up, renew friendships and share memories.
The Trustees thanked Bernie for her hard work and dedication and wished her a long, happy and fulfilling retirement.
Among her retirement gifts was a lifelong visitor voucher entitling her to attend the Centre and enjoy the service that she had been instrumental in setting up and nurturing.
The COATS Centre is a venue for senior citizens to meet, socialise and enjoy a hot cooked lunch each weekday.
