This week’s planning round-up features solar panels for Broadmoor hospital, a new golf clubhouse and plans to demolish a train station’s signal box.

A temporary clubhouse at GolfPlex in Binfield could stay for good after a permanent change of good application was put forward by the site owners.
Golfplex Entertainment Centre on Wood Lane, Binfield, has submitted plans to Bracknell Forest Council to covert eight of its driving range bays into a clubhouse.
The site is currently part of the wider Blue Moutain housing estate of up to 400 homes, a community facility, sports provision, a primary and secondary school.
A temporary clubhouse has been in operaion since 2021, but permission for this will run out in April 2026.
Now, the site owners are looking to retain this facility on a permanent basis, rather than seek a temporary permission.
Plans have been validated by Bracknell Forest Council and a decision is yet to be made.

A bungalow in Sandhurst could be demolished with two new homes built in its place.
Plans submitted to Bracknell Forest Council show number 79 Owlsmoor Road, Sandhurst, could be bulldozed to make way for two four-bedroom homes. The site is currently 616 square metres.
While there are already two parking spaces on the site, four more would be created, taking the total up to six.
A neighbour has objected to the plan, claiming that they were not informed.
Wokingham Borough Council: 250136
A signal box at Wokingham railway station could be demolished.
Network Rail wants to demolish the redundant signal box as well as the operational equipment outside it.
The building has been out of use since the Feltham resignalling programme.
Because of the nature of the application, Network Railway does not need approval for the works from Wokingham Borough Council’s planning department, but rather needs to give ‘prior notice’.
The signal box and adjacent building are scheduled to be demolished and removed between March and August 2025.

Part of Broadmoor Hospital in Crowthorne will have solar panels installed.
The high-security psychiatric hospital, first opened in 1863, has applied to Bracknell Forest Council to install 483 solar panels to The Paddock Centre.
The Paddock Centre first opened in 2005 as a new stand-alone ward within the existing site.
West London NHS Trust says this forms the first phase of works to install low carbon energy and heating solutions at the hospital. It will be funded through public money.
