The opening of the new McDonald’s restaurant in Wokingham has moved a step closer with the installation of new signage.
Work has been ongoing at the former Carpetright unit in Bridge Retail Park on Finchampstead Road, and this week the famous ‘Golden Arches’ have appeared on the building.
In April, the restaurant operator confirmed it was planned to open in the second half of 2025.
Last month, a spokesperson for McDonald’s told Wokingham Today: “I can confirm that we intend to open our restaurant in Wokingham during September.”
As exclusively revealed by Wokingham Today, approval was given by Wokingham borough council for the unit on May 10, 2024.
It had earlier said the restaurant will bring significant investment to the local area, and will deliver up to 120 full and part-time jobs.
A banner outside the store indicates that recruitment is currently under way.
