WOKINGHAM’S annual music festival proved once again why it has become a beloved local tradition, drawing enthusiastic crowds to Cantley Park over the bank holiday weekend.
Founded 15 years ago by local resident Stan Heatherington, the festival has grown into a family-friendly alternative to larger events like Reading Festival, offering civilised fun.
The three-day music fest featured back-to-back performances across two stages, with acts ranging from tribute bands to local talent.
Saturday’s highlights included Selena and the Howlin Dogs, and a Fleetwood Mac tribute band called Our Own Way.
Sunday brought crowd-pleasers like Third Lung and Bottle Kids, while Monday concluded with performances by the John Hackett Band and Tom Robinson Band.
Food options included everything from burgers and street food to Mexican, Thai, and pizza, while the Twyford Beer Festival tent provided refreshments for adults.
Organisers pride themselves on the event’s cleanliness and organisation, with bins constantly emptied – and clean toilets, a detail that doesn’t go unnoticed by festival-goers.
The weather – always a bank holiday uncertainty – was very kind, the music was great, and the atmosphere relaxed and happy.
No wonder this annual celebration of music and togetherness is embraced by the local community.
