Ann Way, our International Fundraiser and her committee organised a very successful Medieval Fun and Frolics at Pearson ‘Banqueting’ Hall, Sonning on Friday evening.
Adorned in medieval dress we were served a glass of mead, a hot two-course feast, followed by a raffle, quiz, games, medieval dancing and raucous singing.
There were volunteers facing wet sponges in the stocks, Splat the Rat, Jenga and other games to be played.
Benedict Krauze, Chairman of the Trustees told us that The Next Generation Christian Foundation is a UK-registered charity that supports education in the developing world.
It provides funds for the education of gifted but disadvantaged young people who would not be able to continue in education without this support.
It is currently sponsoring the secondary education of 26 young people at two schools in different towns in Nigeria. We hope we have been successful in making a difference to the education of these children.
We would like to invite everyone to our Charity Fashion Show, presented by John Lewis and Partners on Wednesday, April 17.
This will be held at Leighton Park School RG2 7ED starting at 7pm and the tickets, costing £12, will include a glass of wine or soft drink.
All monies raised will benefit the worthwhile charities Motor Neurone Disease Association and Arthritis UK.
Please contact Margaret Adams on 0118 947 2237 for tickets or visit innerwheelrme.org for further information.
