WITNESSES are being sought following a late night stabbing in Wokingham town centre last night that police are treating as attempted murder.
Thames Valley Police said that the incident took place around 3am this morning as two men left The Gig House pub in Erftstadt Court, off Denmark Street.
They were aiming to catch a taxi, but got involved in a fight.
Both men were stabbed in the face and neck, and have been taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment.
Two men have been arrested.
A 23-year-old man from Frimley has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place, using threatening/abusive language to cause harassment and attempting to cause GBH with intent.
A 23-year-old man from Wokingham has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Yong Chung, based at Loddon Valley police station, said: “This assault happened in the early hours of the morning, and I am confident that someone will have witnessed what happened.
“I am appealing to anybody who saw this to get in touch with police.
“I would be particularly keen to hear from anybody who was driving in the area and may have dash-cam footage, or who may have any mobile phone footage.
