AN impressive 99% of students at The Piggott School passed their A-Levels, with more than one third of grades being an A* or A.
A-Level and Level 3 vocational qualification candidates collected their results on Thursday morning, and were greeted with a stellar set of results.
Of all results, 63% were between A*-B, while 83.5% were A*-C. The average point score per A-Level entry was 39 points under the QCA system, which equates to an average B grade.
Piggott’s Vocational Level 3 pass rate for Applied General qualifications was 100%, with Distinction Star to Merit being 87%.
Zac Slocombe said: ‘I’m feeling over the moon with an A* in business, A* in geography and an A in economics.
“I am eternally grateful for all the help and support from my teachers. I am heading off to Manchester to study Economics and Finance.”
Jess Peck and Lara Branston are excited to study at Cambridge in the new academic year.
Jess explained: “I am feeling ecstatic and slightly overwhelmed to achieve 4 A*s. I am looking forward to starting a degree in Computer Science.”
Lara achieved 2A*s and an A, and will head to Cambridge in September to study Geography.
Executive head, Mr Gray, was full of praise for both students and staff.
He said: “I wish all our students the very best for the future and thank all the teaching and support staff for their continued dedication and professionalism.”
