Reading FC manager Ruben Selles admitted that he was content with a point as the Royals came from behind to draw with Oxford United.
The teams had to settle for a draw after an exciting end to the first-half was followed by a drab affair in the second.
The Royals fell behind when Ciaran Brown headed Oxford in front but Reading found a quick reply when Sam Smith broke in behind the defence and poked past the keeper.
“A point is a point. We will take it,” said Selles.
“We had periods of the game where we controlled and could have scored. We had periods where we defended well. We came back from 1-0 down immediately to score.
“At the end with a couple of set plays, I think three or four weeks ago we lose that game.
“The team is in a good mood and spirit and we defended well. I’m happy with the effort and togetherness they put in today. We are not there yet where we can dominate for 100 minutes.
“Inside the game you have a lot of game.s We started well and had the ball and transitions.
“The good thing is we managed to stay in the game and a couple of changes, especially with Ben Elliott, we started to have the ball back again.
“We need to be able to play multiple games and the second half was different from the first one, we had to adapt.”
The boss rewarded Tom Holmes with a rare league start after he had been omitted from the matchday squad for most of the campaign.
He continued: “I always say that my reward is for the players working hard who wants to play for the team and to make an impact for this club.
“Tom (Holmes) has been outstanding in the last four weeks. He has earned his right to be back in the squad first and then in the line-up today. He is showing the good player he is.”
Selles also confirmed that there was no injury concern for Nelson Abbey who was withdrawn before the hour mark.
“He’s a young player who has played a few games in a row. You could see his fatigue and he made a couple of mistakes in possession and covering the deep run.
“That’s one of the reasons we rotated Tyler Bindon from the line-up.
“When he (Nelson) had nothing more to give we brought in Tyler to do the job. When somebody is tired, another steps in to do the job so there was no injury.”
