Happiness and joy came to hundreds of elderly people on Christmas Day.
More than 150 people were treated to a lunch they may not have otherwise enjoyed, thanks to the Link Visiting Scheme.
Floreat Montague Park school was the base for the festivities, while volunteers helped deliver meals to people who were unable to attend the venue.
Wokingham town mayor, Cllr Rob Comber, was on hand to help serve the meals, and to chat to attendees and volunteers..
The event was made possible with support from Wellington College, and the Co-op who provided surplus food for visitors to take home.
The Kindness Tree also provided gifts for every person.
Liz Mcdaniel, senior fundraising manager, said: “Special ‘thanks go to everyone who donated to our fundraising appeal, including Wokingham United Charities who made this Christmas adventure possible.”
One attendees added: “I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to you and your many helpers for organising the Link Christmas lunch.
“It was truly an amazing experience for me to mix with so many happy and genial Wokingham residents.
“I am truly grateful.
“On many levels, the Link is becoming a cherished society, and the most esteemed charity organisation to join.
“With your infectious personality and boundless enthusiasm, it is not only a pleasure but a privilege to be looked after by Link.”
