Business is still going strong for Reading-based chartered accountants Vale & West.
The firm has been celebrating their successes since the firm’s foundation in 1894.
The company says that its heritage includes three centuries, two world wars, and staff who have made a lasting impact on local and world events.
Such individuals include a Battle of Britain RAF night-pilot and staff involved in saving Reading FC in 1983 when it was proposed to merge it with Oxford United.
During its time, Vale & West have also undergone transitions from the Victorian Era to Digital Age, worked with multinational clients, and established strong links with the Thames Valley community.
Managing partner Jason Pyke said: “Our talented and long-serving staff, our strong associations within the local professional services community, plus our focus on high quality accountancy performance and customer service satisfaction have helped make us a success.”
He added: “We believe our diligent work and knowledgeable advice helps underpin the achievements of our clients – from embryonic start-up to the sale of a mature business, and beyond.”
And Mr Pyke has his own reason for celebrating Vale & West’s anniversary. He is marking 30 years with the company this year, joining back in 1989 with an ambition to qualify as a chartered accountant and become a partner of the firm, both of which he has achieved.
His goals now include developing the company as a leading independent firm.
He said: “We are looking to grow the practice but will retain our core values of close, knowledgeable and committed client support – the keys to our continuing success.”
The firm said that it prides itself in the quality of its advice and accountancy services to both business and personal clients, and is looking forward to maintaining its strong bonds with the local community in the centuries that lie ahead.
