Changes to some bus services and timetables were highlighted at Wokingham Borough Council’s recent full council meeting.
Councillor Paul Fishwick, the executive member for active travel, transport and highways, noted that the Arriva 850 service between Reading and High Wycombe, which connected Earley, Twyford and Wargrave, had ceased, and has been taken over by Carousel.
He said: ”Those buses will run on an hourly basis until August 31, and then from September 1 they are going to increase the frequency to three buses an hour during the day, with an enhanced evening service and Saturday services, and a new Sunday service.
“On August 19, we will extend the Winnersh Park and Ride services to operate on weekdays with four buses an hour, and increased frequency on a Saturday from three to four buses an hour.
“This enhancement is funded through the Bus Service Improvement Plan grant.
“ On August 27, we are going to make tweaks to the timetable of the 128 and 129 supported service.
“That is the Wokingham, Winnersh, Hurst, Twyford, Charvil, Sonning, Woodley and Reading service.
“That will give better timings for people living in the Woodley area to access Forest School.
“On September 1, the commercial Leopard 3 service will enhance its service, up to four buses an hour in morning peak and afternoon peaks, between Reading and Bohunt School in Arborfield, via Shinfield.”
