Amazon Logistics will create around 50 permanent jobs with the launch of a new delivery station in Bracknell.
The 7,700 sqm building is expected to be fully operational next month and will serve customers in and around Berkshire.
Based in SEGRO Park, the development will also create hundreds of driver opportunities for Amazon Logistics’ delivery service providers and Amazon Flex delivery partners.
Delivery stations power the last mile of Amazon’s order process and help speed up deliveries for customers. Packages are shipped to a delivery station from neighbouring Amazon fulfilment and sortation centres, loaded into delivery vehicles and delivered to customers.
Prajvin Prakash, country director for Amazon Logistics, said: “We’re excited to be investing in Bracknell with a new delivery station which will create permanent roles for the workforce here, and help us provide even speedier and more efficient deliveries for customers.”
Minimum starting salaries at the new site will be £15.30 p/h, or £31,824 per year, plus benefits.
