TO CELEBRATE the launch of a new book, nine-year-old Amelie Cullity put pen to paper.
The talented Westende Junior School pupil was one of the winners of a contest organised by the Market Place branch of WHSmith in Wokingham.
Organised to celebrate Diary Of An Awesome Friendly Kid, which was published last week, store bosses asked its young readers to get colouring, with the best entries scooping a copy of the book, part of the Wimpy Kid series.
Delighted Amelie said: “My Mum was going to pre-order a copy for me, but now I’ve won one, it’s a lovely surprise.”
And although she is a Wimpy Kid fan, there’s more delights awaiting her: “I haven’t read all the books yet,” she explained.
WHSmith held a special promotion to launch the new book, with store manager Katie Rogers organising special book bundles for her younger customers.
Other winners included Elodie, 5; Amber, 2; Kelly, 8; Jake, 13; Tom, 9; and Hannah, 10.
