This year’s Wokingham Poppy Appeal has raised in the region of £80,000 – although the exact amount is still being calculated.
Appeal organiser David Dunham was thrilled with the amount given the traffic and economic issues around the town.
The amount is similar to that collected in last year’s campaign.
Speaking to Wokingham Today, he said: “I’d like to thank everyone who donated, and those who volunteered their time to help with this year’s poppy appeal.”
He highlighted a number of companies and organisations who encouraged their staff and members to take part.
Dunham, who has been involved in the poppy appeal for more than 50 years, said plans are afoot for a formal presentation and “thank you” night in February 2026.
