An appeal has been launched to make a crossing used by primary school children safer.
Conservative councillors are calling on leaders of Wokingham Borough Council to extend the double yellow lines on Fairwater Drive at the junction with Highgate Road in Woodley.
The petition organisers say primary school children struggle to see cars approaching clearly due to their sight being blocked by a line of parked cars.
There are double yellow lines currently around the bend of the junction.
The Wokingham Conservatives plan to present the petition to full council.
According to the authority’s rules, if a petition reached 1,500 signatures, a debate on the matter can be triggered and debated by all councillors.
