AN exhibition of the proposed route of the new Arborfield Relief Road, and the work that has already been carried out, is due to go on public display later this month.
The exhibition will show the planned Option B alignment of the new road, which is based on the route agreed by Wokingham Borough Council’s executive following public consultation attracting more than 1,300 responses.
The new road aims to ease existing congestion in Arborfield as well as offset traffic from the 3,500 new homes being built on the former Arborfield Garrison site.
The plans will be on display at Henry Street Garden Centre, in Swallowfield Road, until June 30, with representatives on-hand to answer any questions on Tuesday, June 13 (11am to 5.30pm), Wednesday, June 14 (2pm to 8:30pm) and Saturday, June 17 (9am to 1pm).
Leaflets, feedback forms and FAQs will be on offer throughout June. The content of the display boards will also be available to view on the council’s website from June 9 at www.wokingham.gov.uk/parking-road-works-and-transport/road-works-and-road-closures/arborfield-relief-road.
The exhibition is not a consultation, although people will be able to make comments via a questionnaire available in paper at the exhibition, or online: www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/ArborfieldCrossReliefRoad.
The deadline to submit feedback to be included in the planning application documentation is June 30. The planning application is due to be submitted by the council in July.
