Two weeks after Asda reduced the price of fuel to under a pound for a special weekend offer, the retailer will tomorrow reduce its usual price by 2p per litre.
And, thanks to its national price cap policy, a litre of unleaded at Lower Earley will cost just 101.7p a litre, and diesel 104.7p a litre. This is significantly cheaper than many of the borough’s petrol stations with the price at many – including Shell on Wokingham’s London Road and the new BP station on Finchampstead Road – being pegged today at 108.9p a litre of unleaded.
Andy Peake, Asda’s senior petrol director said, “We’re giving drivers an early Christmas present as fuel prices continue to fall. We know how important it is to pass savings back into motorist’s pockets in the crucial run-up to the festive period.
“We know our competitors are likely to follow but Asda don’t have a postcode lottery on fuel meaning no matter where customers live, they will benefit from the same fuel price with our national price cap of 101.7p per litre for unleaded and 104.7p per litre for diesel”.
Have you seen a cheaper price for fuel in Wokingham borough? We’d love to know.
