A job advertisement for a SEND (Special Educational Needs) assistant team manager at Wokingham Borough Council was quickly removed after it contained what was described as “very badly worded” text.
The advertisement was posted to various social media sites by Belmont Recruitment, saying it was representing Wokingham Borough Council.
The job description included “a focus on ceasing EHC plans”.
An education, health and care plan (EHC) is for children and young people aged up to 25-years-old who need more support than is available through special educational needs support.
In a reply to one comment, Wokingham Borough Council said: “An agency we work with did issue the incorrect and very badly worded job advertisement.
“We are sorry for that and this job has now been removed.”
