A NATIONAL children’s charity held a celebration to recognise the achievements of the young people it supports.
Barnardo’s held the event at High Close School on Wiltshire Road and families and young people from across the South East and Anglia region, alongside staff and volunteers, had a fantastic time partaking in various activities culminating in a prize giving ceremony.
Children and young people were able to take part in circus skills, graffiti art, rap workshops and street dance.
Barnardo’s chief executive Javed Khan attended the celebration and the young people were presented with certificates, such as having a positive attitude and perseverance.
Barnardo’s South East and Anglia Regional Director Jonathan Whalley said: “This was a fantastic day which was enjoyed by everyone who attended. The sun was out and it was a pleasure to see the smiles on everyone’s faces.
“I know that a lot of hard work went on behind the scenes but it was really was an excellent celebration of all of the good work that Barnardo’s does in the region and a lovely way to recognise the courage and determination shown by our young people.”
