Reading FC remain in the hunt for a play-off place despite dropping points late on after conceding in stoppage time to promotion hopefuls Bolton Wanderers.
It was Reading’s star striker Jack Marriott who again continued his exceptional form and looked to have fired his side to victory until Mason Burstow tapped in from close range to bring Bolton level in the 96th minute.
Marriott opened the scoring in the first-half when he rocketed a shot into the roof of the net with a clinical finish which proved too strong for the keeper.
Having now scored four goals in his last two games, Marriott has 16 league goals to his tally which makes him League One’s top scorer.
However, Reading fans will be concerned about his welfare after he was substituted with an injury before the hour mark.
Despite that, Bolton’s pressure paid off late in the evening when Joel Pereira flapped a corner which was eventually turned in by Burstow to ensure that the points were shared.
The result means that Reading are in 8th place and just two points outside the top six with a game in hand over 6th placed Huddersfield Town.
The Royals face an away trip to the league’s bottom side Port Vale on Saturday.
