There were substantial rises in average house prices and rents in Wokingham during the year ending April 2025.
Data from the Office for National Statistics, released last week, said the average house price in Wokingham was £510,000 in April 2025, up by 7.9% from April 2024.
This was higher than the rise in the South East – at 3.0% – over the same period.
The year-on-year rise for the year ending the previous month, March 2025, was 4.6%.
Private rents rose to an average of £1,431 in May 2025, an annual increase of 9.6% from £1,305 in May 2024. This was also higher than the rise in the South East – at 6.6% – over the year.
The average price paid by first-time buyers was £402,000 in April 2025. This was 8.6% higher than the average of £370,000 in April 2024.
For homes purchased with a mortgage, the average house price was £521,000 in April 2025.
This was 8.0% higher than the average of £482,000 in April 2024.
