BRACKNELL Trampoline Centre has won a £5,000 national award to help revamp its equipment.
The club will use the funds to invest in 3,000 brightly-coloured covers for the foam in the pits around its trampolines, after being awarded the money by financial services company OneFamily as part of its Community Awards.
The covers, known as pit socks, are designed to create a more sensory experience for toddlers and those with special needs.
Jackie Shearer’s two children both train at Bracknell Trampoline Centre and she also has a Child Trust Fund with OneFamily for her son.
“Without the grant, it would have taken us at least two years to raise the money for the improvements, so we’re truly grateful to everyone who took the time to vote for us,” she said.
“At the moment the surrounds around the trampolines are very old and dusty and make the equipment look incredibly unattractive.
“The new pit socks will change this completely as well as making sure that equipment remains safe and usable for many years to come.
“Winning this award has shown us how much the centre means to the community.
“Our classes are suitable for all ages and abilities, so anyone is welcome to try the new equipment.”
