The doors look set to open on a new business in Wokingham town centre.
Signs have appeared on the former Blueberry Toys unit in Denmark Street, indicating that MooBoo Bubble Tea, the UK’s biggest bubble tea chain, is almost ready to open its doors in the town.
Mooboo is the largest Bubble Tea franchise in the UK, with more than 100 locations nationwide including in Reading, Camberley and Farnborough.
On its website, the company said: “Mooboo is not just a Bubble Tea brand.
“Mooboo is a holistic experience that is meant to evoke a sense of passion, happiness, and connectedness in every sip and every bubble.”
Established in 2012 in Camden, London, Mooboo Bubble Tea was established in response to a growing demand to bridge the gap between Far East culture and western tastes.
Bubble tea is a tea-based beverage that can be accompanied by chewy tapioca balls, but customers can choose other toppings as well.
Depending on region and culture, grass jelly, popping balls, aloe vera, and red beans are all potential choices.
Bubble tea appeared first in Taiwan in the early 1980s. It has been a favourite drink in East and Southeast Asia since the 1990s.
The unit at 13 Denmark Street, has been closed since its previous owners occupants, Blueberry Toys, ceased business in August 2023
