THE headteacher of a school in Woodley has announced she will be stepping down at the end of term.
Emma Reynolds, who has led the Bulmershe School since taking over in early 2013, announced her decision to move to Frome College, in Somerset, in a letter to parents on Wednesday, May 10.
Deputy headteacher Amanda Woodfi, will take up the position of Acting Headteacher from September 1.
Ms Reynolds, who previously held the position of deputy headteacher at Highdown School in Caversham, said: “I have found it to be a tremendous privilege to lead the school over the last five years and I am extremely proud of the significant development and improvement of the school during this time.
“Such progress is hard won and is testament to the excellent team of staff I have had the privilege to lead and the aspiration to succeed of our students and their families.
“Bulmershe has a strong, ambitious community of committed staff, students, parents and governors and I wish everyone in the school community continued success and a bright future ahead.”
Peter Miskell, Chair of Governors, comments: “The Governing Body would wish to thank Emma for the fantastic contributions she has made as Headteacher, and wish her well in her future role.
“We particularly appreciate the work she has done to develop a strong team of senior and middle leaders throughout the school, and to instil a culture of continuous improvement.
“As Governors we have every confidence that these teams, initially led by Amanda Woodfin, will continue to deliver improved outcomes for all student groups.”
