CALIFORNIA Gardeners will be taken on a green fingered journey of the horticultural year at their next meeting.
This is when Claire Mitchell will share her gardening knowledge with the Finchampstead growers in her talk, A Plant A Month.
She will also, no doubt, be encouraging club members to share tips and notes as they prepare to display their best blooms at the group’s Spring Show in March.
Open to all, this event enables members to present a range of horticultural, domestic and creative exhibits, which are then auctioned at the end of the show.
Visitors to the event can expect to enjoy a colourful array of spring flowers and bulbs, a tombola, a raffle, and homemade cakes with tea.
Members meet 10 times monthly during the year, and can take part in two shows.
They have access to a trading hut, and can also enjoy social outings to gardens.
Their next meeting of California Gardeners Club is at California Ratepayers’ Hall, on Monday, March 2, at 8pm.
Entry costs just £2, or £6 to join for the whole year.
The club’s Spring Show will take place (also at California Ratepayers’ Hall) on Sunday, March 22.
Exhibition entries can be dropped off between 8am and 11.45am that day, with the show open from 2pm until 4pm.
