Residents who encounter full bottle banks are being urged to take their recycling home and not leave it on the floor.
The request comes after images appeared on social media showing locations in Twyford, Finchampstead and Shinfield where bottles and other items of glass recycling were left piled up alongside already full containers.
A spokesperson for re3 told Wokingham Today: “We appreciate residents for their brilliant efforts in glass recycling, and kindly request patience and understanding.
“As anticipated, glass volumes significantly increase during the festive period.
“We want to reassure residents that our teams are working around the clock, emptying banks as we speak.
“The bottle bank site in Finchampstead was due to be emptied on Tuesday, and our teams are expected to be working in the Twyford area on Wednesday and Thursday.
“To ensure efficient recycling, we kindly ask residents not to leave empty bottles on the floor when banks are full.
“Instead, we ask them to consider taking them home and waiting a few days or visit a nearby glass recycling site.”
The locations of glass recycling sites can be found on the re3 website.
