READING defender and club captain Paul McShane has been released after four seasons at the club.
The Republic of Ireland international joined the Royals in 2015 on a free transfer having been released by Hull City and made 103 appearances during his time at the Madejski Stadium, but only managed to play five times during the 2018/19 Championship season.
Anssi Jaakkola, Joey van den Berg, George Legg, Danzell Gravenberch and Callum Harriot were also among the other names to have been released by the club.
Defender John O’Shea also announced his retirement following the end of Reading’s campaign as manager Jose Gomes looks to overhaul his squad in the upcoming summer transfer window.
