STAFF at a Lower Earley care home put the fun into fundraising when they offered to clean cars for charity.
Their Charity Car Wash was organised at Austen House, Reading, to raise money for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation (BCF).
Simona Cioinac, senior general manager at Austen House, said: “We love to fundraise for charities throughout the year.
“We pick different causes to support that have been selected by staff, residents and friends of the home.”
The group’s efforts raised £200 for BCF.
“The foundation is a great cause that helps many people in need and is also very close to the hearts of all our staff and residents, so we feel really proud to have been able to raise this money.
“Thank you to everyone who donated.”
BCF supports older people and other adults living with a disability or mental health problems by giving grants to help them connect or re-connect with others in their local communities.
Austen House, run by Barchester Healthcare, provides nursing care, dementia and respite care.
