A BIKE worth at least £600 has been stolen from outside a supermarket in Lower Earley last week and now Thames Valley Police have released CCTV images of two people they would like to speak to in connection with the theft.
The incident took place around 5.15pm on Sunday, March 26 in the Sainsbury’s Local in the Maiden Place parade of shops. The CUBE-branded bicycle had been left outside the store.
Investigating officer PC Julie Susel, neighbourhood supervisor based at Loddon Valley police station, said: “I would like to speak to the people shown in these CCTV images as I believe they may have vital information that could help us with our investigation.
“If you recognise them or have any information please contact me via the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number 101.
“If you do not want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.”
And PC Susel also had some advice for cyclists:
“I would like to remind members of the public of the importance of using a good quality lock to secure their bicycles when leaving them unattended, even if it’s just for a few moments,” she said.
“It’s also a good idea to security mark the frame of your bike and register it with a scheme such as Immobilise which will help us reunite you with your property should it be stolen.”
