Newbury Building Society presented the Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice with a cheque for £7,369.99 earlier this month following a year of fundraising by the branch’s members and employees.
The cheque was presented to Sue Soffe, senior community fundraiser, outside the society’s branch on Broad Street in Wokingham.
Justine Ransom, Wokingham branch manager, handed the cheque over.
She said: “I am so pleased to present this cheque to Sue Ryder.
“We have been fundraising for the charity for a number of years now and are delighted to have been able to raise such a great amount this year, particularly when times are so tough for so many.
“I’d like to say an enormous thank you to our members who give so generously, and to my team at the branch who have undertaken fundraising activities throughout the year.”
The Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice provides vital palliative care and bereavement support to people in the Wokingham area, ensuring no one has to face dying or grief alone.
It is the charity partner of Newbury Building Society’s Wokingham branch, voted for by employees and customers.
