GRANTS of up to £7,500 are being made available to initiatives that help tackle crime and increase community safety across Wokingham borough.
The money is being made available by The Public Protection Partnership, which is chaired by Cllr Norman Jorgensen.
He said: “The new Public Protection Community Fund is funded from assets seized from criminals as a result of their criminal activity. Grants of up to £7,500 per group are available and we are encouraging community groups, not-for-profit organisations and ward members, who are seeking funding for crime prevention in their local community, to apply to the Fund.
“It is right that money recovered as a result of convictions for serious criminal activity is used in this way and we are looking forward to receiving a good number of applications.
Please note the deadline for this, the first round of applications, is Monday, December 4.”
