A CHOIR is set to delight Shinfield residents with a selection of classical pieces written by Haydn, Purcell, Rossini, Verdi and Wagner.
Cantemus Newbury’s concert, entitled Music of Stage and Worship, will take place at St Mary’s Church, Church Lane.
According to the 20-person group, the performance will take visitors on a “voyage of discovery”, exploring how opera has influenced works and vice versa.
The chamber choir will be directed by Christopher Waters and accompanied by Joanna Shepherd on the night.
Tickets cost £10 in advance and £12 on the door, with funds raising going towards the Church Organ Fund.
Visitors can enjoy a bar and raffle during the interval.
The concert takes place at 7.30pm.
