A WOKINGHAM church made its celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation an international affair on Sunday.
St Paul’s in Reading Road has been holding a series of special events throughout the year to mark the date that Martin Luther nailed a series of doctrines to a church door in Germany.
St Paul’s events culminated with a choral evensong service that includes worship sung by members of the Mariakyrkan and Johanneskyrkan churches in Vaxjo, Sweden.
And the sermon was given by another Swede: the Revd Teresia Derlen, who is now associate priest of Prestwood and Great Hampden.
As part of the Vaxjo church’s visit to Wokingham, they were given a private tour of the town hall by town mayor Cllr Peter Lucey and Cllr Ullakarin Clark.
