Finchampstead residents have been targeted by deliveries of a newspaper that is known for spreading COVID-19 misinformation, publishing anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and articles supporting Holocaust denial.
The BBC previously reported how The Light newspaper is delivered by volunteers in dozens of towns, where some local leaders have accused it of inflaming division and harassment with its false and misleading claims.
It was delivered in Finchampstead along with leaflets suggesting mobile phone towers are acting as digital watchtowers, and suggesting there is no climate crisis.
One Finchampstead resident, who declined to be named, urged people to be wary of what appeared to be a legitimate newspaper.
He said: “Unless you know the background of The Light, you might think this is a normal newspaper with genuine news and advertising.
“Some of the ‘news stories’ that have appeared in this edition are, quite frankly, dangerous.”
