Fast food fans in Wokingham don’t have long to wait for the opening of the new McDonald’s restaurant.
Work has been ongoing at the former Carpetright unit in Bridge Retail Park on Finchampstead Road in recent weeks.
In April, the restaurant operator confirmed it was planned to open in the second half of 2025.
This week, a spokesperson for McDonald’s told Wokingham Today: “I can confirm that we intend to open our restaurant in Wokingham during September.”
As exclusively revealed by Wokingham Today, approval was given by Wokingham borough council for the unit on May 10, 2024.
It had earlier said the restaurant will bring significant investment to the local area, and will deliver up to 120 full and part-time jobs.
